The short version: only upload music you own, you keep what's yours, we tell you exactly how the derivatives are made, and nothing here is hidden in the font size.
Catalog Exploder ("we," a Back Pocket Music service) takes audio recordings you upload and produces derivative assets from them: stem separations, edited loops and intros, AI-generated stylistic variations, and packaged project files. We curate the results by ear and deliver them to you.
You may only upload recordings for which you own or control both the master recording and the underlying composition, in full, or hold written authority from every rights holder to commission derivative works. Before checkout you must attest to this by checkbox and typed name. We record that attestation — including your name, the date, your IP address, and the terms version — with your order.
Some deliverables are produced with third-party machine-learning models. Specifically: stem separation uses a source-separation model (Demucs) running on infrastructure we control; stylistic suites and stem variations are generated by Suno's music models via the kie.ai API, using your recording as the audio source with tempo and key constraints. Your audio is transmitted to those services to perform the work, and their terms apply to that processing. We do not train models on your audio, and we delete source audio from processing services after delivery.
AI-generated deliverables may be subject to different or limited copyright protection depending on jurisdiction. We identify which files in your delivery are AI-derived, and we make no representation that those specific files are registrable. Your original recording is unaffected.
Everything we deliver is yours to use, sell, license, and implement, exclusively, to the extent rights in it exist. We keep no license to your originals or your deliverables beyond what is needed to produce and deliver the work. We do not resell, redistribute, or showcase your material without separate written permission.
We promise human curation: a person auditions every file before it ships, and files that don't meet the bar don't ship. Generative output varies by source material; if a track resists the process, we will tell you plainly and refund that track rather than deliver something we wouldn't put our name on. We do not promise commercial outcomes, chart positions, or that any particular game will license your catalog.
Deliverables are provided as a download link valid for at least 7 days. Source uploads are deleted from our storage within 30 days of delivery. Keep your own backups; we are a pipeline, not an archive.
Payment is due at order via Stripe. If we fail to deliver a track, that track is refunded in full. Completed and delivered work is not refundable.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are versioned. The version you attest to at checkout is the version that governs that order.
